Remote monitoring for children and teens: before, during, and between Phases I and II of Orthodontic Treatment

Abstract:

During the lecture, I will discuss my protocols for monitoring children and teens. I will highlight the potential of using remote monitoring during treatment. Constant monitoring of the treatment course allows us to improve the care of young patients, eliminate unnecessary visits, and focus on those visits that are actually needed.
I will also discuss the use of a pre-orthodontic observation protocol to monitor patients between the first and second phase of treatment. This protocol allows us to decide the optimal time to start the second phase of treatment, which can significantly shorten the overall duration of orthodontic treatment. Starting the second phase at an opportune time, such as when permanent teeth have fully erupted or deciduous teeth are no longer present, is crucial for efficient treatment.
Additionally, I will cover how parents can cooperate in monitoring their children and teens effectively.
