Topic of the lecture:

The paradigm shift for early interceptive treatment: A digital approach for ‘comprehensive' mixed dentition treatment

Abstract:

Traditionally, most approaches to mixed dentition treatment have involved treating only one or two most pressing issues or aligning the maxillary anterior teeth without any regard for underlying skeletal considerations. In this paradigm shift to early interceptive treatment, Dr. Sandra Tai will present a comprehensive approach to mixed dentition treatment where underlying skeletal issues are addressed early in the child's development to restore normal growth patterns. Maxillary skeletal expansion together with dentoalveolar arch development set the stage for the future eruption of permanent teeth, such that the patient may only require minimal intervention after the transition into full permanent dentition. This will be illustrated with clinical cases treated with the Invisalign Palatal Expander and Invisalign First system by Align Technology.
